Another technique I have developed is Batik, this involves using wax that is heated up until melted, then once the wax is melted I then drew a pattern with it to do with our theme of 'All the fun of the fair' I drew a bow, balloons and included text, once this is painted using inks the wax will block any colour so the wax will act as a barrier to any ink applied, once the ink is dry the peice of paper gets ironed onto news print so any excess wax will melt away and leave a white outline where the wax once was. I have never enjoyed producing a batique drawing as a feel it leaves a untidy final product.
