Today in class we did 'free machining' this consisted of using a piece of calico stretched over a wooden ring to hold the material in place, once this was done we removed the foot of the machine, put the fabric under the needle and sewed a pattern or image of our choice, I had problems with this technique to start with but once the machine worked I decided to create a flower pattern and swirls around the image, once this was complete I had to finish my lines of different stitches that I started last week, both these pieces of work will go inside my tech file along with any other work I produce while on the sewing machines.
