Pigment Printing and Puff Binder

Firstly I dyed up my fabric to create the tie dye effect on the piece of fabric, once it had dried I had to put it on the heat press for 20 seconds at 180 Degrees C to lock the colour in, then wash the fabric to get all of the excess dye out of it, once this had been done and dried I proceeded to screen print onto the material, I wasn't happy with how this finished up so I deiced once the screen print design had dried I was going to puff bind diagonally across my original design in the right hand corner, this meant sticking my piece of cotton diagonally on the work surface and having my screen straight along the table, I also had to mask off the parts of my design i didn't want to print onto my cotton then I continued to pull the puff binder through the screen just like I would if I was screen printing, once this was complete all I had to do is go over the puff binder with the heat gun to puff up the design, overall I am very very happy with how this sample came out, I think all the colour's compliment each-other well too, I think for my final piece I will use Puff Binder, screen printing and a coloured cotton background too.
