Sewing Stage: Final Peice

After I have dyed, pressed and washed once this first process was over I then screen printed and puff binded onto my final piece I then decided to sew onto my design, using both the free machining technique and the normal sewing technique using both straight stitch and zig-zag stitch, both these techniques are shown in the top right image and the bottom left image, I used a mixture of metallic thread colours, turquoise, bronze and grey. When using my straight stitch to go down my stripes on my design I layered my threads up using all three colours so the threads would stand out more, I then went on to sew down the middle of some of my chains on the flying chairs design using bronze thread on the zig-zag setting, I was going to use all three colours again but felt it might have looked a little too full so I decided to just to stick to one colour thread, I did the same on my puff binder by using turquoise thread on the zig-zag setting down the chains on the flying chairs again, I chose to use this colour as I thought turquoise would stand out and have a good effect on a white back ground, once that was finished I went on to free machine around and inside of some of the circles on my design using both turquoise and grey, turquoise to go around some of my circles and grey to fill in the inside of the circles, this is shown on the top right photo in the collage below.
