Current S/S14 trends found on the catwalk:

Both mini dots and the harlequin/checker board patterns are coming back, or in some peoples cases never left, both of these textile patterns have always created brilliant effects once printed, in my opinion the mini dots pattern gives the best subtle effect as if done right from far away the pattern can give a classic tweed jacket look, as shown by a recent Jil Sander design, whereas the Kenzo design is a full mini dot design creating a sporty look which also gives a good effect. The harlequin pattern has always been around and is most definatley a pattern that creates a impact! I believe the best way to create this look is by having a two peice in the same harlequin/checker board pattern teamed with a plain top underneath the patterned jacket, these pattern trends find major influences from the Chinese and Japanese cultures also the 50's! These two patterns both are displays that the digital print continues to be strong in the fashion universe!!
