For this sample I chose to use calico, I firstly applied wax (batik) and created a pattern including shapes that features on my print. I then dyed the piece of fabric I used Turqoise MX4G and Red MX2R, I then left this to dry naturally, then once dry I ironed off the wax then washed my fabric to remove any excess colour, I then left to dry naturally and heat pressed the fabric, I also sandwiched the fabric with several sheets of newsprint so if there was any excess wax it would go onto the newsprint rather than onto the heat press and damage it. Once this process was complete I printed puff binder onto the fabric, I chow to use the binder without any pigment for the first screen, once I had done this I realised I couldn't see where I had printed so I decided to puff it up to give me better guidance. For the next three screens I chose to use puff binder once again but with pigments mixed in, Red BB, Orange G and Blue B. I am very happy with how this sample has turned out but it isn't very practical for my final piece as a shift dress.
