Health and Safety in the Print Room!
Health and safety is crucial especially when working in the print room, hair has to be tied up, gloves must be worn as well as aprons this is because a lot of the procian dyes and pigmens stain clothing and can be extremely irritant to the skin. The heat press is set to 180 degrees at all times and must be swung back around to the correct central place when not in use it is also crucial to be careful when applying and removing fabric from the heat press as both the fabric and the plates on the press both get VERY hot! When printing and dying fabric on the table it is important to wash the table down thoroughly as if not it is a possibility that the dye on the table will pick up and get on another fabric, once the table has been washed down the bowl of water and sponge should be moved as this may get knocked over and dirty water containing dye could dye another choice of fabric or get items like phones, iPads and cameras wet.
