Fabric Manipulation on samples.

After successfully printing all of my samples, as they had to be of a specified size of A3 I decided to fabric manipulate some of them but to do this I had to make sure the samples I created ready for manipulating were larger than A3 as once manipulated they would shrink, I printed onto A2 fabric then Shrunk them down using vertical and horizontal pleats, this is probably my favourite part of the current projects design cycle as I love using the sewing machine and altering my own work, I chose to pleat some samples these two photos show pleating at various angles, I decided to pleat vertically and horizontally as once the fabric had shrunk land scape wise it was still to large portrait wise, once I had pleated the fabric I then did running stitches down, the pleats in alternitave directions, it is very important to be very concentrated when using the sewing machine as they can be very dangerous if anything gets caught in the needle or not watching where I am sewing as the needle could easily go through my finger. I am extremely happy with how my manipulated samples have turned out and will be very happy to present them too Moo Designs as I believe they are completed to a high standard.
